Witness Testimony

"My wife and I were driving home from a wedding in Greer, Arizona. At 10:45 P.M., we were approximately 10 miles Northeast of Greer on Highway 260. I saw a very bright light in front of and to the right of our traveling car. Since I am unfamiliar with the area, I first assumed it was an oncoming car and readied to turn my hi-beams off. After a moment, I turned off my high beams to reveal that the flashing light was well over the nearest hills and trees. At this point my wife and I noticed that the object would flash as one bright light, then 2 smaller lights, then 4 smaller lights, in no particular order. The light traveled South then West crossing my windshield, then flying nearly parallel to us. I estimate that the object was less than a mile away, and rather low, maybe 2500 feet altitude at most. At its closes point, I relate the flash to the brightness of a nearby streetlight or headlight. It was also moving very fast. My wife estimated that between flashes it had traveled the length of her forearm in relation to our vantage point, which would put it at an incredible speed. The experience was so intense that my wife and I decided to actually accelerate to get away from the object as soon as possible, especially given that we were in the White Mountains of Arizona (Travis Walton). While accelerating away, I kept my eye on this object in my rearview mirror. It appeared to be traveling North before disappearing out of sight. The area we sighted the object in is incredibly secluded. No airports are nearby, and the nearest town is Pinetop which was another 30 miles away. Given how close it came to us, had it been an airplane or helicopter, it would have been easily discernable as such. "
