Witness Testimony

"12/31/14 at 10:45 PM was checking on livestock in a field 1/4 mile away from house. Neighbors were shooting lots of fireworks. When arrived at field to unlock gate saw orange light in sky travelling North to south under light cloud cover. As it came overhead I noticed it made no sound nor did it have other flashing lights as a plane would. The object moved slowly about the speed of a small plane and made an arching turn to the west and disappeared over the western horizon. It was then I noticed another identical light then a line of 3 more and then another single and then two more close together then another single all following the same path and making the same turn disappearing over the western horizon 9 all total. I noticed that as they passed all my neighbors stopped shooting their fireworks which probably meant they were looking at the lights too. The sky and thin layer of spotty clouds were backlit by the almost full moon and I took a close look at one of the lights with a 9 power rifle scope I had in the truck and there was no shape of a craft, just a bright orange light. Our local Air Force Base was shut down for the holidays with no planes flying and the tower was not manned. I checked with the local Sherriff and they had no call ins about the lights. Another interesting point is I have a small dog that was with me and he has never shown an interest in airplanes before yet he sat and watched the lights as they went by. During the encounter I called my wife who was at home 1/4 of a mile away and she went outside only to see the last 2 as they passed over. I am absolutely sure these were not planes or helicopters but I could not say what they were. I will watch the sky more closely from now on!"
