Witness Testimony

"Driving east on I-64 at approximately 6:00 am just past Caseyville, IL. I noticed a very very bright white light in the totally clear eastern sky that at arms length appeared to be about 2 to 3 inches above the horizon. The shape was similar to a slightly opened eye and was tilted down lower a bit at the left point. I lost view for about 2 to 3 min. due to a tree line then regained view just before the hwy. 159 exit in Fairview Heights, IL. where I turned off the hwy. and found an empty parking lot to stop and watch the object . It remained stationary for the next several minutes when I decided to try and take a picture with my flip phone . By the time I got my phone and got to camera mode (approx. 30 sec. ) it had moved diagonally from left to right and up about 1 inch right and about 2 inches up (again at arms length ) . As I continued to watch the object moved very slowly back down from right to left diagonally to where I had originally viewed it . During that movement it gradually changed from the eye shape to the look of a typical star. In that shape it stayed in one location for several minutes then started to move to the left parallel to the horizon very slowly until I lost sight of it behind a large water tower. When I moved to try and capture sight of the object again I could no longer find it . The sun had not risen above the horizon for the duration of my sighting and there were no clouds in the sky. The object was shining very bright white and I believe the sun would not have been the source of the light ( as in a reflection ) because it appeared to be positioned between my location and the point where the sun would have appeared at day break. Unfortunately the pictures I attempted to take did not achieve an apparent view of the object but I have saved the images just the same. "
