SIGHTING: OKAVANGO DELTA (BOTSWANA)

Witness Testimony

"I was at Pom Pom camp in the delta. It was about 10pm. I was standing on the deck outside my tent admiring the night sky. I suddenly noticed what I thought at first to be a bright star but it was moving from the right to the left. It was bright, looked white in color and was pulsating at intervals. I was trying to figure out what it could be. As it continued moving left it suddenly started to descend. I was surprised as the descent seemed abrupt. It continued to descend and then looked as if it had disappeared as I did not see anything. Within 5 seconds I saw a bright light pulsate just above the tree line (I could not see the trees due to the dark of the night but I knew they were there). It was very bright, the object dark except for the pulsation. There was not noise. It was very quiet. I then realized there was not sound of animals which usually there is at that time (hippos in water). Whatever this was it continued stationary above the tree line and pulsated. I kept trying to figure out what it could be as there is nothing out there at that time of the night. No boats, no aircraft, nothing. And it was silent. This was single white, noiseless, pulsating light. I wish I had taken video but I was fascinated and at the same time disturbed because I wanted to know what this was. I watched for several more minutes. It did not move from its position and I then went to bed. "
