SIGHTING: CALA EGOS, MALLORCA (SPAIN)
Witness Testimony
"I have just spent 10 days in south eastern Mallorca, in Cala Egos, which is between Cala D'or and Portopetro. On the 27th July at about 3am, I was sitting on our 6th floor hotel balcony,which faces approx south west, eating chocolate and looking at the stars. I became aware that directly opposite our hotel, maybe half a mile away there was a dull orange-illuminated ball shaped object which seemed to be slowly rotating. It's light, and the effect it created reminded me of those bio-luminescent squid things you see on the nature programs at the bottom of the sea. I would estimate that this object was hovering about 200 feet from the ground. I watched this object for approx 5 or 6 seconds, when it suddenly accelerated away in a north westerly direction. There was no gradual picking up of speed as a normal rotary or fixed wing aircraft would have to achieve, it just went.There was no sound from it, just complete silence. It flew towards a small range of low mountains which I estimated at the time to be about four or five miles away. It flew in a dead straight line and reached those mountains in approx FOUR SECONDS then disappeared into the distance. I did a quick bit of mental maths and realised it would have to have been travelling at about 3600 mph to cover four miles in four seconds !! I have since checked on Google earth, and the mountains are indeed about 4.2 miles from Cala Egos. I would be very interested to know if anyone else saw this, other holidaymakers etc,as I would love to know what I saw."
