SIGHTING: NARRABRI NSW

Witness Testimony

"Hi, Now I am thinking that you may think I am a Looney.. BUT: on a night in 1966, I (along with many other locals) was at an Open Air Picture theatre here in Narrabri NSW (I was 16 yrs old) when people started running out the front door, I looked up and saw a UFO hovering over the town. I WAS GOBSMACKED when I first saw the movie “Independence Day” in Darwin (lived there 1997 – 2003) where I was living as it depicted in every detail things that happened on that night particularly, particularly how those small lights flew out then along-side the Mother ship which was an exact copy of the one on the night.. The Mother ship was silent and moved very slowly over our town (pop was about 5,000) in a South Easterly direction and the craft was bigger than the town. Nothing was said in any media about it so I guessed people on other towns in our area didn’t see it. Since moving back here in 2003, I have asked other people (around my age) if they were at the movies on that night but all have denied being there. However, whilst I was working for the local Rural Fire Service I was doing traffic control at an accident and was chatting with local lady (as it was taking a long time to clear the road) and we talked about many things “including ghosts etc” and then I mentioned that UFO, she surprised me and said she was at home with her sister and they both jumped under the bed to hide. I was on Facebook one night in “about” 2014 chatting on a “school friend” webpage and one of my former school mates who I had not seen since Primary school was Debunking Ghosts, Flying Pink elephants and Extra Terrestrials etc and I asked him the question “where were you in 1966 when that UFO Hovered over the Town”? He laughed and asked what are you On and said his parents had moved to Sydney just after leaving Primary school in 1962. Another female school friend who was on the Site then commented it was 10th May 1966 because she was attending a B & S Ball at the time and everyone there had Witnessed the event. No-one else has claimed the sighting and I did google UFO Narrabri and it just mentions that a UFO was Sited over Narrabri with no more details about it and there has never been No other mention of it…. Maybe you have ways to confirm or deny these events and can solve or confirm it? Happy to chat with you as my details are attached with my e-mail.
