"My wife, daughter and I were sitting outside on the deck observing the stars when suddenly an intesly bright white flash lit up the area around us and got our immediate attention. The flash was very high up - a good guess is that it was approximately the same height one would see low orbiting satellites as they cross the sky.The light flashed several more times but much feinter each time. I watched as the flashing light disappeared way up into the starry sky - travelling vertically.This is now the second time I have seen this phenomenom. The 1st time was earlier the same year, September 2011, but at a lower altitude (40degrees above the horizon) and also about 700km further inland (Mabalingwe game Lodge).Anyone have any ideas yet what these lights are ??????? "
