Witness Testimony

"Unusual heat lightningI was travelling south on US highway 95 towards Hawthorne with a friend. We saw what would appear to be heat lightning on the horizon to the south. But this lightning flashed in a tight sequential pattern, about 10 times with 1 second intervals between flashes. The first ten or so flashes were an orange yellow color, but the last flash was blue. this pattern repeated twice. It may be nothing but I decided to report it because the mechanical beat of the sequence appeared to me to be artificially controlled."
