Witness Testimony
"Evening July 12 at about 9;15 pm. Sitting on my front porch on a hill looking {east} over the town of Tucumcari,nm.Just relaxing after a busy day I was looking at the lights of town etc when I saw a flash of light above me. Looking up I saw two lights like the very bright headlights of a car shinning directly toward me for about 15 or so seconds, they then moved ever so slightly to their right to shine away from me and then were just gone. We live almost directly west of our small airport at a distance of 7 or 8 miles. We frequently see and hear small planes going to and from the airport directly above our house at approximately the same altitude the lights appeared to be. My first thought was that the lights were the landing lights of one of these planes, turned on at the incorrect time since they were going away from the airport not toward it. Thinking it had gone behind a small cloud I waited for it to emerge and continue west. It did not. Note: Small planes have only one landing light. I did not understand what I had seen and ask my husband to come out. I told him what I seen. We looked for clouds in the night sky and could see none. There were stars etc, but no clouds and no other lights in the sky. After thinking about this for two days I am totally mystified and can think of no explanation. Any thoughts on this?
