SIGHTING: NOT SURE IN A PLANE, WYOMING (UNITED STATES)

Witness Testimony

"We had recently lifted off on our flight from Jackson Hole Wyoming back to Pittsburgh via Chicago. We were off the ground for about 20-30 min (they were just getting ready to serve drinks). I was looking out the window and then I turned my head to speak to my husband. I only had my head turned for maybe 10 seconds and when I looked back about 1/2 way out I saw a moving object (moving in the oposite direction of our plane), I hit my husband and motioned for him to look with out taking my eyes off of it, and he saw it too. We both initially thought it looked like a missile, but then realized there probably wouldn't be one so close to a plane. It was white at the front and sort of glowing and had a short really thick black smoke that traveled with the object; the smoke was not hanging in the air behind it. It moved straight across the sky. We watched with our mouths hanging open for about 15 second and then the object disappeared. Not disappeared from our view, it just simply seemed to vanish. I stood up and looked around the plane but it didn't seem that anyone else had been looking at the object. We waited until we landed and let everyone else get off the plane so I could speak to the pilot. He said he not seen the object. I also can't believe that it wouldn't have shown up on radar. The size of the object which I judged by another plane I saw in the sky at about the same distance away, was about 1/4 of a plane length. I have been trying to research it on my own and have not been able to make any progress. Was it a meteor, or missile or something else? It has been driving me crazy and I would love to have someone else���s perspective as to what it was. thanks."
