Witness Testimony

"On the exact date and exact time, according to my wrist watch when I looked down. I was looking up at the constellation Orion while outside. Suddenly, an orange streak of light raced across, just below Orion's belt, as if you took a flash light and flashed it real quick. This was a clear night, so you could very well make out most of the constellations. The light ran a direct, straight path; my first reaction was possibly a shooting star (metorite entering Earth's atmosphere) and may have been what it was. However, I couldn't dismiss it as this, as it was a bright orangish color, from my distance at a measurement of 2-3 feet in length and was following too straight a path. It is possible that it may be a shooting star, but I do want you to know that the direction it headed (on a south to north pattern), looked as if it were moving in a direction away from Earth. I know it sounds strange, but I have seen numerous "shooting stars" and this resembled nothing like a shooting star. It was like it went from a dime size to pin size streak across the sky and was gone. But again, I could not identify it as anything in particular, but thought you should know. I hope that you might have some information for me on this occurrence, if as to what I noticed or if anyone else has noticed the same thing. Thanks."
