Witness Testimony

"Reddish/orange flash of light.I had just arrived home from doing some shopping, and had just turned my car off and had just stepped out of my car. It is a clear night out tonight in our area, so, I always look up to the sky to see if I can spot anything, having seen things around here before! That's when I saw the flash of light. It was located near due west of where I am! And at an approximately 30 degree angle to the horizon. It wasn't a large flash nor shape! Maybe about the size of a BB held about a foot or two from your face. It was maybe red to reddish orange in color, and lasted maybe only a couple of seconds at most! There were no aircraft in the vicinity! I'm thinking that maybe it was a Quark(?) or something like that, that Scientists see from time to time in the night sky, you know, an exploding star or some such thing in the distant Galaxy/Universe! I've heard of them, but exactly what they're called, I don't recall! Whatever it was, it wasn't moving! Just a flash of light and it was gone! I watched, but saw nothing more! Pretty interesting to have seen it! "
