Witness Testimony

"I was out having a cigarette, and I walked towards the back of the yard because I heard a sound. It must have been a cat or something, but it ran by me and seemed pretty shook up. It scared the heck out of me. Not long after that, I looked across the field behind my house and saw a huge explosion with a bright light in the middle of it. It was pretty far away, but it lit up the whole sky. I didn't hear a single sound, and I thought that was extremely odd. There isn't a cloud in the sky, so I don't believe it was lightning. I was outside for roughly 10 minutes, and after the first flash that I witnessed the sky lit up two more times, but I wasn't able to see any kind of flash or explosion from those, it seemed like they came from separate directions. I thought the explosion must have been some kind of firework or house fire, but there was no sound and it was gone in about a second. It made me feel pretty uneasy, and I thought I'd send a report to see if anyone saw the same thing."
