"I was not going to do anything about this until I saw the news article from Tauranga today.
Details.
Weather.... fine
Objects....... 2......... Exactly the same as the Tauranga pic but Horizontal.
Date Sat 4 Jul

North East of Bishopdale Christchurch
Height.........Estimated approx 1500 feet and about 500m apart.
Witness.......Wife
Details,
Both objects moved slowly in a SW direction before the one on the left seemed to accelerate and travel to the West of Chc airport. The right hand one moved towards us.
The illumination on both of them faded out just prior to being overhead as if the light was on top and obscured by itself! The one to the west was still visible as a light grey shape and travelling SW at approximately ,what appeared to be B737 speed.

I have been in the airline industry for 42 years and these were definitely not conventional aircraft.( Lights were fixed as per Tauranga pic and not Strobes).
