SIGHTING: ELKO, NEVADA (UNITED STATES)
Witness Testimony
"My wife was giving our daughter and grandchildren a ride home. (7:35 PM, Sept. 22. 2015) As they drove out of the driveway I looked to the North and directly up the river canyon, at an unknown distance (I would guess 15-20 miles at approx. 15 degrees above horizon) I observed two very bright white lights blinking back and forth, then they stopped and a light at the same level 5 degrees or so to the left blinked on and off for 4-5 seconds then went out, back to the right side (same angle and elevation)of the first two for a similar display. Then back the middle two... this went on for 3-5 minutes. There were four very distinct light sources, all apparently at the same elevation and distance from me. There was no apparent change in position during this time. They were considerable brighter than Nav lights, and resembled landing lights aimed directly in my direction.(I am a licensed pilot). After they disappeared I noticed a commercial airliner traverse the area-- it was considerably dimmer, blinking, and at approximately 30 degrees of elevation from my vantage point. Unfortunately I could not call anyone, nor take pictures of the lights as my family was in transit home. I hope I am not the only witness, but I'm the only witness I know of at this time.The lights were spaced kind of like this in the night sky: * * * *This was basically true North of my location. I really enjoyed the sighting and told my wife about it when she returned..... "
