Witness Testimony

"Our property is on a somewhat remote lake where there are only a few other cottages and we are bordered by a vast area of crownland to the north and east. it was a crystal clear night, no wind, no noise, and very dark as there was no moon out. event took place around 11pm while my buddy and i were chatting by the camp fire. i saw an orange point of light through the trees off in the distance above my buddy which caught my attention. it appeared to approach directly towards us from the nw and as it began to descend and get closer i could see that it was a red/orange ball of light. i pointed it out to my buddy and when it was approx 150ft away from us and just over the tree tops (50-60ft altitude) it changed direction,now bearing east directly over a large clearing on the property. this gave us a mostly unobstructed view of it. we estimated it to be approx. 2-3ft in diameter and the colour was mostly deep orange (like molten iron) with some darker red blotches fluxing on it. the movement wasn't quite smooth - it seemed a little jerky up and down as it moved across. it made no noise. it took about 7-8 seconds for it to move across the clearing and then we lost it through the trees as it continued to move east. we ran out to the dock (took about 10 seconds) to see if we could see it again but it had disappeared."
