Witness Testimony

"I was camping and it was very late at night. all the lights were out. i was in my sleeping bag on the ground lying face up. i was tired but my senses were still very keen as i heard coyotes in the distance and saw airplanes fly by. i was looking at the stars when i noticed a moving “star” from the westerly direction. i thought it may have been a shooting star but after a few seconds i realized it was too large, it was reddish, and it never dimmed. it moved from over a hill at the speed of a cessna prop plane going as fast as it can. it then suddenly stopped directly above me without any effect from inertia. it didn’t move for 20 seconds then it made very smooth random horizontal loops for another good 30 seconds without changing speed. it then looped back to where it hovered and without stopping went back from where it came from at the same speed it appeared and disappeared behind a hill. i just sort of watched this as it happened very calmly and without alarm. it covered up stars as it passed them and it was the only moving object in the sky when this happened. it never changed altitude (from my perspective) i do not know how high because my only reference point was stars. it made no sound. it appeared as a particularly bright star moving around."
