SIGHTING: HERVEY BAY/MARYBOROUGH

Witness Testimony

"I was going to work at CCFM Radio station as I was the breakfast announcer there at the time. It was about 5:20am and I was just at the top of the Main Street hill on Ghost Hill in Hervey Bay. It was a grey cloudy morning, dewy and a little fog. As I got to the top of the hill I saw a huge pyramid shaped object floating about the trees towards the Tuan Tuan Forestry on the other side of Maryborough. It was massive. It was a grey metallic object, pretty high at its top point. At the base was a thin line like a platform or base of some sort. It had a red light on the right and an amber right on the left. At the top about a third of the way down was a row of what looked like windows in a zig zag pattern. Almost like two levels. Midway was another row of what looked to be windows which went across the entire object Its edge was quite sharp looking with a darker strip of shadow. Looked pretty solid. The lights were bright and then not bright. It was literally above the the trees floating some way above them but aligned with them. I had no camera and mobile phones were not invented in those days. But I do have drawings of what I saw. It remained on the horizon for some time and as I was heading to work I lost sight of it. I actually announced it on the radio asking if any listeners had seen it and I had a few calls with sightings. What ever it was it was huge! I contacted John Hopkins and the Qld UFO Group and made a report in 1999. Cheers Keri McInerney "
