Witness Testimony

"Was involved with a military aircraft mishap in the NM desert. While setting up tents noticed bright light about 3 miles away near small runway. Runway lights turned on the bright light appeared to be coming in for a landing. The light stopped over the runway hovering for several minutes. No sound coming from light, no prop or rotor wash. The light then accelerated very rapidly upward at a 90 degree angle from the runway. Again no sound. The runway lights turned off. There were 10-15 people that saw this. We didn't discuss it with anyone, we all knew better than to report it. All of the people that witnessed the event were on active military duty. "
