SIGHTING: DOWNEAST, ME
Witness Testimony
"This red ball was like no man made "light" that I am aware of,, looking like a humming orb in down-east Maine.On January 29, 2014, approx. 7:00 pm on a clear night- my husband called to me to come outside on our upstairs deck and look at an odd red light. I at first said it must be a red light from the new cell tower or a small aircraft coming in to the tiny airport up the road approx. 6 miles. I am a skeptic. If I can't see, touch, taste, hear or smell it-I'm not convinced.The red ball that I began to observe behaved very smoothly, coming from the northeast directly towards our house, it did not move in a direct path though, it was as if it was hovering to the right, then the left. I became convinced that this was something odd and unlike anything I had ever seen- pertaining to airplane lights, etc. I ran downstairs to get my camera and night binoculars for my husband.When I reached my last point of observation again from the upstairs deck, the red ball was now hovering over the southerly sky, heading slowly west- just above the tree line. I did take some pictures and they are quite clear in depicting the very redness and roundness of this object. I am an avid photographer- I know what man-made lights look like in a photo- they glare and have light or white centers, no matter the color of the light. This was red through and through, it did not send rays of light out like a man made light does- this was like an orb and it did hum, while hovering just over our hoop house. It disappeared from sight as I tried unsuccessfully to take a video too.We are farmers, my husband a retired mill worker. He is the believer in UFO's, I am not. I do not know what I saw- only, it was not man made, or I should say- to my experience, research- this was like no light that I am aware of. I do have pictures that testify to this object's shape and color that we watched for several minutes. We live in a heavily forested, barely populated area- with three large lakes surrounding us. "
