Witness Testimony

"My roommate and I were on a quartz covered hill 2 miles south of my house (approx 1 mile south of Ray rd and 187th ave)sky watching. The sky initially had some wispy clouds that had cleared at the time of the sighting and it was fairly windy mostly from the southwest to the northeast if I remember right and the moon was half full,so it was fairly bright out. The evening had been uneventful aside from a couple of satellites that sped by. At approx 9:45 to 9:50 pm we were packing up to go home and as I turned around rather abruptly after putting some stuff in my truck (I was facing South) and directly to the SE just over the mountain range towards Mobile/Maricopa, I believe they are called the Maricopa mountains, I witnessed 4 large bright orange/amber lights come on in succession one at a time from left to right in a straight line I called to my roommate to look and he saw them as well.There was no drifting or wavering, and they went out in the same manner from left to right the a couple of seconds later it repeated in the exact same manner from left to right but appeared to have moved in a straight linear path to the west slightly.This same exact pattern repeated 2 times then stopped for a minute or so then one single light came on and appeared to close in on itself then disappear all together. We hung around for a little while longer but nothing else occurred. Prior to this happening there were several groups of military planes coming out of LAFB flying by at high speed headed in a southward direction. During the time of the sighting there were no military planes in sight or within hearing distance. As I stated it was quite windy that evening but there was no drifting of the lights and they remained inline and an equal distance apart as if fixated to something. There were no smoke trails as would be from flares nor did they behave like flares in any way, again, remaining the exact same distance apart in a straight line.
