Witness Testimony

"I was outside with my dog around 6:30 pm and went along the main road heading south east. I noticed some lights over the fields in the west / south west. I saw two fast light balls that had a white center with blue and green lights around it, flickering in a fast and random rhythm. The lights were just a couple hundred meters away from me. My flashlight reaches about 350 meters and they appeared to be at the very end of my light beam.First I thought that these were two bikers with headlamps, but one of the lights was moving way too fast for a bicycle. It kind of "shot" to the left (south), changed it's direction and "shot" to the other light (north) after which both lights kept moving northwards. While I observed these two objects I could make some comparisons. In the backgound I could see cars driving with a speed of about 70 to 100 km/h (40 - 60 mp/h). Moreover, we live in the approach path of the near by airport (cologne) and even planes that are still flying with several hundreds km/h only a few hundred meters above our heads appear to be slower than these two lights. After the lights went northwards I hurried to get home and tried to see them again from our balcony (free visibility across the fields over which I saw the lights) but unfortunately they were gone already.i tried to see them again (in case it would have been bicycles they might have appeared again) but they didn't come back."
