Witness Testimony

"A friend, my wife and I were camping on the 29th of May at Campbell Tree Grove Campground. After dark, we saw a solid white light in the sky. It had no navigational lights. There was no sound. We were camping the entire weekend, beginning on the 27th, and had heard aircraft and helicopters earlier in the day. (There was a search team looking for someone who was lost and hurt earlier in the day). When we saw the object, it came from the South, and headed North, toward the big dipper, and arced East until it disappeared behind the mountain. The light was solid. The time frame was for about 5 minutes, and we saw the object between somewhere in the estimated hour of 9:30 and 10:00p.m. We had no sense of the size or scope of the object, but it seemed rather large. We all commented it was strange we heard no noise before, during, or after it passed overhead. We could hear the river flowing, which is about 200 feet away. We could hear our fire crackle when we stepped out onto the loop road of the campground. We observed the object until it disappeared behind the trees and behind the mountain/hill. We all discussed what we had seen, and our experiences were all similar. Our initial thought was it was a plane, but given there were no flashing lights and absolutely no sound, and the fact the brightness never waivered, we are at a loss to explain what we saw. We discussed it being a Chinese lantern, but discounted that, as there was no flicker. The sighting made all three of us excited and happy to have witnessed it.
