Witness Testimony

"around 10 p.m. myself and a friend were walking through my neighborhood playing a cell phone game. when the game froze I stopped and looked up at the sky which was clear and star filled in the area that I was looking. I noticed what I thought at first was a plane/light moving at high speed at a significant altitude. The light was heading in a roughly northerly direction but seemed to be ascending. I had the impression that the object was a significant distance away, possibly miles, due the smallness of the light from my point of view. Because of this I was surprised to see how much distance it was covering relative to the short time that I witnessed the object, about 15 seconds. There is, admittedly, a lot of air traffic in the area where I witnessed this object. Due to the regular air traffic I am well accustomed to how fast a plane travels and appears at all manner of distances and lighting conditions. Compared to all other aircraft that I see in the area be they near, far, fast, slow, hovering(like a helicopter or Chinese lantern) this object appeared far faster and higher in altitude than most or all. Furthermore, I have witnessed many aircraft landing at the airport near me and so have witnessed many aircraft with their headlights/forward landing lights on as well as noticed all aircraft with green and red directional indicator lights engaged. The object that I witnessed had no directional lighting that I could see but instead was simply appeared as a constant white light. furthermore about half way through the sighting the object flashed a bright white light briefly. It then appeared to increase speed and altitude and disappeared/dimmed/possibly exited the atmosphere. I mention the forward landing lights on planes earlier because this object was at all times heading north away from my position during this sighting including when the flash occurred. I do not believe I could have been seeing a forward running light of a plane. "
