"My sighting happened 1988 or 1989. At that time I was a soldier in German Army during a night exercise at the German military training site BAUMHOLDER.Me and some comrades suddenly saw a very bright star. At first we were thinking, that this was some kind of battlefield illumination. But that "star" slowly moved closer to our position until it reached an angle of about 70º. Then it stopped for about 30 seconds.Then that light suddenly moved very fast to the left. It was naerly a 90º angle. The distance it moved was about two thumb jumps.Then it stopped again and after about 10 or 20 seconds it looked like breaking apart and 5 or 6 smaller "stars" spreaded form the center to all directions. For my comrades it ever stayed a kind of pyrotechnics. But I never was sure. No flare would have been able to move like this...I would appreciate an answer, if anybody something like this saw this before..."
