Witness Testimony

"I was sitting on my front porch at approximately 8:50PM, when I happened to look over my neighbor's house. I saw a single red/orange lights that appeared to be hovering behind the trees. It then moved from East to South East. About one minute later, a group of three of the same lights appeared and traveled in the same direction. This group was followed by a group of four lights. Two of the lights in this group of four got extremely bright for about 5 seconds and then dimmed again. This group was followed by a group of three and then a pair. All of the lights traveled in the same direction. Some of them changed their altitude multiple times. I would estimate the lights were no more than 500 feet above the ground. They were no more than one mile from me. I lost sight of all the lights as they moved away and behind houses and trees. We are in the flight path of an air force base, and we see all types of aircraft. These lights were not blinking, which makes me think they were not anticollision lights on a plane or helicopter. I did not hear any sounds coming from the lights. They were so close, that if they were an aircraft of some type, I would have been able to hear them. While I was watchin the lights, I observed a small private plane, traveling towards the air base, fly between two of the lights. The lights or gifted from the direction of the air base, butappeared to be at much too low of an altitude to have come from there. They literally popped up from behind a group of trees and houses. I have seen the same lights several times, but only in groups of two or three."
