Witness Testimony

"I was outside my front door having come back from taking my partner to work. i looked over to check the car central locking had worked and just glanced up at the sky and saw a green light just above the houses, only a small dot of a light. it looked like the front or back of a plane or helicopter light, but as soon as i fixed on it, it shot up into the sky, it then made movements like the figure of 8 and then came back down rapidly. its sequence seemed to be random. in making the figure of 8 it seems to flick between blue and green light in no set pattern. i am feeling pretty nervous as i am still observing this object and it is now very high in the sky and is stationary.It is pulsating blue and green. it is a cold cloudless night and i can see the stars. a few cars have driven past me but i dont have any witnesses to this event.
