Witness Testimony

"I was outside on my back deck just looking at stars when i noticed, straight overhead, a bright flash. i kept my eyes on that position and a light slowly pulsed a yellow-orange color, starting very dim, then brightening up and dimming back out. after about 30-45 seconds, it flashed a bright strobe type light again, still in the same overhead position. as i continued to watch, it would slowly pulse every half minute or so. after a few slow pulses, it would flash in a strobe type manner again. i opened the back door and called to my wife who was actually asleep. she came outside and she too observed the light and it's behavior. after about 5-6 minutes of staying in one position straight overhead, it started to move slowly to the south east. i estimated that it took the object about 15 minutes to travel from about 90 degrees (straight up) to about 45-40 degrees south east of it's original location. after that period of time, i could not see it flash or pulse anymore. i still had a clear view of the sky, which was completely clear of cloud cover at the time. during the event, i tried to capture video with my iphone video camera but there was not enough light to be picked up by the camera's capabilities. i would like to remain anonymous due to the fact that i am an active law enforcement officer. i have 30 years (in january) experience and currently serve as my department's chief of police.
