Witness Testimony

"This sighting occurred in august 1968. (i placed another date in the report because it would not take the actual date.) recognizing my situation (lost from squad during night training(, i walked and then ran down the road in the direction we had been heading before the (training) ambush. i could hardly see my hand in front of me, but due to sheer terror i kept running and stumbling. it must have been fifteen minutes into my quest to locate my squad when an astonishing thing occurred. all of a sudden i saw a large shinning object cross the sky at about 30 degrees above the horizon. it looked as though it was one - two miles away, although it was difficult to tell. i stopped in my tracks and just looked at it. i was on a hill so i had the advantage of a clear view out into a large valley. i saw it move at an unbelievable rate of speed from the left horizon to the right horizon in perhaps ten seconds. ft. ord had a live-fire artillery range so i initially thought maybe that object was an artillery shell. however, it would not have glowed or been as large as what i saw. (years later i asked a physics professor if an artillery shell could traverse the horizon that fast and he said no.) so i was left with the guess that it may have indeed been a ufo. "
