Witness Testimony

"Backing out of our drive I noticed a bright circular orange/yellow glowing object. It was located in a Westerly direction situated above the mountain ridges. My daughter and I discussed that possibility of it being a planet. We cotinued into town to pick up my husband. We had to wait just a few minutes for him to finish up paperwork. As we traveled home Westbound on I40 we noticed that the object was still in the sky. It seemed it had traveled a short distance southward as it was now south of I40. However, the object appeared to be stationary. It was a glowing orange/yellow with flashes of red. The light was not pinpoint but was fuzzy. To me it looked as if it were a fire. As we continued toward our exit (a matter of 4 miles) it appeared that the object began "pouring lights" out from the left-hand side. I saw the lights as more of a liquid process and my husband felt that it looked like a string of bright white lights. According to him, this string seemed to be angled toward the ground as if on a boom although no structure was seen. Again, to me, it appeared as if orange, yellow and red light were pouring out of the oject. Shortly before we reached our exit we lost sight of the object behind a small hill on the south side of I40. When we emerged and began our exit the object was gone (just a matter of seconds). When I made my next trip back from town I tried to visualize where this object had been located. Due to the very small height of the hill behind which we lost sight of the object, it must have been very low to the ground. This object was in the sky for appx. 25 to 30 minutes. It's a 15 minute drive to the station, 5 or so minutes for my husband to join us, and 5 minutes to the point at which we could no longer see the object. Skies were clear, good visibilty. No fog or smog. Temperature was probably in the low 30's. My daughter and I have seen a couple of odd things in the sky before but my husband has been pretty much of a skeptic. However, he was uable to identify this object. He and my daughter are big aircraft buffs and neither of them could identify what kind of light it might be. It did not have the characteristics of a plane, helecopter, weather balloon, or hot air balloon. We've watched the skies for it's return but haven't seen it again. "
