Witness Testimony

"My wife and I both saw this event. We were driving South on I-29 near Onawa, IA on 12/28/2009 at approx 7:30pm CST. I looked to my left (towards the Eastern sky) and noticed a pair of bright star-like objects. They were at distance, approximately half the distance of Castor and Pollux apart, and the initial magnitude of each was brighter than Venus. I alerted my wife and we both witnessed them dim in unison to nothing. I would estimate that they were to be at approximately 30 degrees above the Eastern horizon when we saw them. I���m suggesting that they were at a distance (20 to 100 plus miles) because the appeared to be star-like. In the time that we saw them (approx. 10 seconds), they did not move in relation to each other or the stars around them. The magnitude of each was the same as the other while they dimmed. I was shocked by the objects ability to dim in unison."
