Witness Testimony

"I was driving back home friday 9/16/16 evening from buda, texas. i was heading west on 1604 and i was close to the judson road exit i believe. my view was towards the west as i was driving that direction. the sky was clear and you could see stars in the evening sky. minimal clouds. at approximately 11:24pm i witnessed a flash of light towards the west horizon. it was brief and it was behind a cloud. the best description would be if you were to see lighting in the clouds, but you could not visibly see the lighting itself. having seen that before a lighting flash tends to be blue/white. when i saw this flash it was red and white. more on the reddish side, but with a white at the intense portion of the flash. had i not been looking in that direction i would have never seen it as it was quite brief. there were other cars around me on the highway that evening and i am positive someone else had to have seen it as well. my personal view is that i saw an astronomical event of some kind such as a meteor, but i could not see the object as it was behind a cloud. i am reporting this just so it is on record. the only strange thing about this, is that i have seen meteors before and they tend to follow a path. this event looked more like a flash of lighting, but red. so, it is a bit unusual."
