"On an evening walk about 7:45 pm, I observed what looked like the flame of a hot air balloon with NO balloon attached. It flew from north to south over the avenue where I was walking about the height of which a small plane flying low could do. I heard the hum of an engine, almost the sound of a small blimp, but this was not a blimp. I tried photographing it with my smartphone but no image appeared on the screen (possibly because light from the waning sunset superceded it). As it flew over I heard a child scream in a nearby yard, probably frightened by it."
