Witness Testimony

"I was outside, taking a break from work at 345 underhill rd in syosset, ny. there were clear skies, it was 3pm. i saw the object come into view over a building to my left (east) and it looked like a white object, leaving a trail of sparkling dust, moving east to west across the southern sky from my vantage point. i immediately thought it was a meteor. it was approximately 10-20 degrees up from the horizon. it traveled slightly downward about 3 degrees over the length of its path. as it traveled, it fluttered, then became sliver, then a very intense blue, then a bright green, then it fluttered again, turned white, then fizzled out. the trail it was leaving was illuminated approximately 3 seconds behind the fireball itself. the degrees of sky from 0-360 (relative bearing) were a total of about ten to twenty degrees across. from the time i first saw it, until the time it fizzled out and the trail disappeared, was about 5 seconds. there was no noise. no explosion. there was no way to determine how far away it was. it flew in a relatively straight line with a slight downward arc. i noticed it because it was bright, it was moving and came into my direct field of vision. i immediately felt elated that i had seen something so beautiful. then i had a dreadful thought that it could've been an aircraft. that thought quickly passed because that didn't fit the scene that i had just witnessed. i tried to get one of my co-workers to turn around and see it, but he didn't get turned around in time. please call me with any questions you may have, or regarding any detail that i may have missed."
