Witness Testimony

"While watching for meteors on the last night of the perseid meteor shower between 1:45 and 2 am., august 13, 2018, i noticed what i believed to be a meteor entering the atmosphere flash almost directly overhead. several seconds later there was another flash slightly north of the first. again, i believed it to be another meteor flash until i realized the light was still there, albeit much fainter. the bright flashes repeated 2-3 more times at several second intervals, while moving north. this time i was able to make out the much dimmer light between flashes. the dim light was the same apparent size as the flash, and appeared to be from the same source as the flashes. the light disappeared behind a tree in my yard. it took me a few seconds to get to another point in the yard where i could again see the dim light, which had begun to curve toward the northeast. by this time there were no more bright flashes visible to me, and the light was the apparent size of an orbiting spacecraft. i watched for about one more minute as it continued on its' northeast trajectory. at no time did i hear the sound of engines, although i can sometimes hear the sound of military jets heading at high altitude toward niagara falls air force base. the flashing light very closely resembled the flash of a meteor during entry into the atmosphere, which was what i had been looking for in the first place. no shape was visible; just the light. i cannot estimate the height, or size, other than my impression that it was very high in the atmosphere. duration of the sighting roughly 3-5 minutes."
