Witness Testimony

"At approximately 5:30 in the afternoon, I saw a bright and seemingly static light or reflection in the distance through my window. I watched as it slowly drifted closer and closer until I could see the shape of it more clearly. It seemed to be shaped like a long strip or ribbon and was an incredibly bright and shiny silver. It was travelling in a straight line roughly East to West and didn't appear to be moving under its own power, although there was very little wind at the time so if it was drifting in air currents it must have been incredibly light for its size. It appeared to be a great deal longer than a man, anywhere from 10 to 20 feet long and maybe 3 feet in width. It more or less kept its shape as it moved and didn't flap around as you'd expect a strip of loose and light material to do. I went outside to try and get a closer look, but it was nowhere to be seen, despite me standing in a position to see it as it continued along its route and there being no clouds in that part of the sky. While watching it through my window, I tried to look at it through my phone's camera, which has a zoom function, in order to look at it more closely, but it didn't appear in the camera's view at all. I have seen all kinds of aeroplanes and stealth bombers before and this object was definitely not any kind of vehicle. It was reminiscent of a piece of a burst mylar balloon but it seemed much too big for any commercially available balloons and its straight-line movement and apparent disappearance makes me think it couldn't have been anything like that. I hope to hear on the news later that it was a piece of some kind of wreckage or something else mundane, because it went right over my house and I don't like the thought of it being anything else.
