Witness Testimony

"I was walking east to work on So. 6th St. I was between the cross streets Homedale and Madison when out of the corner of my eye i caught glimpse of a bright star like object (the time of sunrise was 5:50am, the time of incident was at 5:56am, however the sun had not fully been visible above the hills) moving at what I would describe as airplane speed. It appeared to be traveling north/northwest. When I noticed the object it was glowing very brightly. It held a star-like shape but with a slight tail for a moment, grew brighter for a very short moment, then the light faded out completely. I could, however, still make out an object which appeared to be cross-shaped and a dark grey color with no lights. I followed the object visually for a few more moments until it seemed to fade out of sight. The object from my standpoint was directly above Hogsback Mt. appx. 1 finger width above the mountain and moved across the sky 5-6in. from my point of view. I ruled out the possibility of an airplane simply because there were no lights whatsoever. Airplanes always have the green and red lights on the wing tips at the very least. No psychological effects were observed other than the excitement of seeing a possible UFO."
