" Yellow Orange flashing object in Southern Illinois near Interstates 57 and 24Our location is 8 miles northwest of Goreville, Illinois. At 2am, my mother saw a bright light due east of us. Jupiter had already passed over the house. Object grew larger - bright light the diameter of a dime at arm's length. It was flashing at a rate of 3 times per second. Witness states is was the same color as Jupiter.As it approached, it seemed to have a smaller bright sphere on its leading edge.Object moved from East rising overhead to the south, where it was no longer visible.Witness is retired English teacher, holding a masters.
