Witness Testimony

"My wife and i are camping in the us national forest, land between the lakes. we have a small backcountry site, void of lights and people. the surroundings are dense old growth forest. it lies within a valley- wooded hills surround the campsite; you can barely see the sky beneath the tree line during the day. we were laying in our tent, with the rain fly off. we had no fire going, there are no street lights or similar illuminary objects. at the same moment we were alarmed when we noticed a bright red to orange orb manifest approximately 200 ft from us. it, at first, resembled an old rail road lantern. it gave off rays, as if it were contained in glass. it quickly came forward, passing through trees, making its way towards us, i'd say around five miles per hour. it grew larger as it approached. my wife began to scream. then it stopped, as if it was reacting to her. by this time, it was about the size of a beach ball. it stopped, hovered for about five seconds, and then, it is difficult to explain, but it appeared to "flame out" it simply went up into a quick flame, and it was gone. i immediately shined my flashlight, and nothing was there. my wife cried until she convinced me to take us to a hotel. the experience was unnerving. i didn't feel any emotion asides what one would feel when seeing such an event. therr was no gloomy or dreadful feeling. but the manifestation was more than enough to frighten my spouse. the most terrifying part of the experience was when it went up in a burst of flames."
