"I LOOKED OUT MY BACK DOOR WINDOW AT 12:30 AM ONE MORNING IN LATE JUNE-AFTER SUMMER SOLSTICE-TO NOTICE WHAT APPEARED TO BE FIREFLIES. AS I HAVE never SEEN FIREFLIES IN THIS AREA OF NY (TOO COLD AND THEY ARE "NOT" BRIGHT-WHITE BLUE) I CONTINUED TO OBSERVE-AT 1ST- (THE SIDEWAYS v'S WITH STROBES SO BRIGHT WHITE THEY APPEARED BLUE)-IT WAS AS IF THEY SENSED I WAS WATCHING THEM HOVER ABOVE THE FOLIAGE-AT WHICH POINT THESE v'S APPEARED TO MOVE AT 3 SEC INTERVALS (ACCORDING TO THE STROBING) (LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO COMPLETELY OPEN THE BLINDS TO GET A BETTER LOOK-) AND DISAPPEARED FROM NORTH TO SOUTH AND I WAS TOO FRIGHTENED TO TRY TO OBSERVE FROM MY FRONT WINDOW(MY APT SITS-nORTH-BACK..FRONT FACES SOUTH)THE FOLIAGE IS NOW CHANGING. tHE FOLIAGE IN QUESTION HAS BEEN DEAD (DOORNAIL DEAD-SINCE 1ST WEEK OF JULY)I'M UNNERVED..FEELING FOOLISH I HAVE PHONE PHOTOS OF SELECT DEAD FOLIAGE-NOTHING ELSE IS DEAD EXCEPT FOR WHERE THESE v'S WERE HOVERING ABOVE."
