Witness Testimony

"Three of us were camping at Boot Lake campground in Nicolet National Forest in northern Wisconsin. We walked down to the lake to look at the stars, and watch for satelites at about 10:45pm. One of the persons had never seen a satelite. I have seen dozens. From the north treeline, traveling south, was a star-like light, the brightest in the sky full of stars. I immediately thought it was a satelite, even though it was brighter than any I had seen. But soon we noticed the speed was very inconsistent, irradically speeding up (zooming) and then slowing down. We also observed quick but slight deviations in flight pattern as it zig zagged as it slowed and sped up. It remained bright and in full view as we watched it move across the entire sky over Boot Lake and dimmed as it approached the hazy south tree line. I'm a regular star gazer and meteor shower watcher but have never seen anything like this. Decided to do an internet search the following day, today, to see if I could find any other reports or sightings. Did not find any, but found this sight. I am a responsible 46 year old who is not a fanatic about UFO's, but somewhat intriqued by the phenomenon. This sighting was absolutely bizarre to me. It seemed to be much closer than the stars in the sky, because of the brightness, yet much further away than an aircraft would be flying. The three of us talked about what we saw during the sighting and for about an hour after, noting the time and comparing perspectives. We all saw the exact same thing."
