Witness Testimony

"Had just returned home from going for a drive due to the heat. Had seen it before we left in the same spot its been in for the last month. This time however it was no longer in its usual triangle formation but instead was almost lined up in a straight line. At first I thought it was just a weird star formation since there are a few around my area. But when I first noticed it around the beginning of August, it would begin to move after 9pm. And then around midnight it would be out of sight. I can usually see it from my couch and it normally appears to be hovering over the tree that's about 100 feet away from my house.I'm just confused and intrigued by it because I've never seen it until this summer and the way it slowly moves east at a certain time of the night is odd as well. But seeing it now forming in a line is weird. Like I said, when I first saw it there were three star like points in the formation of a triangle and it's been like that until tonight, August 24, 2016. So yea, I just want to know what it is and why it's hanging around my house.The first photo attached is unedited and the second photo is the object circled to point it out better."
