Witness Testimony

"I was driving on rt 301 southbound in the approximate area of newburg, md, when i witnessed three shiny-silvery objects flying in formation going northbound against my direction of travel. the objects looked like mylar balloons, but as they traveled northbound and in formation and did not flutter as a balloon would, i assumed they were not mylar balloons. i thought that perhaps they were kites, but they were traveling to fast northbound to have been kites. all three of the objects had a faint white tail. i thought the tail was a contrail, but they were short and seemed attached to the objects. i spent 21 years in the usaf and pretty much know what a plane/helicopter looks like. these were neither. the siteing lasted less then 30 seconds as they were traveling against my heading. i tried to take pictures but felt i could not safely do so while driving. "
