SIGHTING: SOUTHAMPTON DOCKS UK

Witness Testimony

"Approx 12.05 pm BST, on Sunday 3rd of July 2022. I saw 3 low flying white objects moving Southwards over Southampton docks towards Fawley oil refinery, crossing Southampton Water. I observed the objects for about 20 to 30 secs. from the rear window where I live in Weston on the eastern side of the river Itchen. The distance from me I estimate between 2000 to 3000 meters and height was I estimate between 200 to 500 meters. Certainly well below the low cloud base present at that time. 2 objects were flying level one behind the other, at a space of 5 to 10 seconds apart, as the one object that I first observed was obscured by a tree 30 yards from where i was standing in my room and I saw another object which I had not originally seen pass out the other side of the same tree then the original object became visible both were at same height and distance from me and passed from my vision obscured by other trees. I looked back towards the docks and saw a third white object flying in the same direction as the first two but further away and slightly higher in altitude, sort of flying a parallel track but not the same path. This object was not obscured by the tree but flew out of sight as it passed over Southampton Water towards the western edge of Fawley oil refinery. The objects were solid bright white in colour, definitively not birds (too large) and not balloons (as they where flying across the prevailing wind which was west to east). They appeared to have powered flight but no sound heard. The speed is difficult to estimate as also the dimensions of the objects themselves. It is possible they could have been drones but I don't think they were as they appeared to be moving too quickly at a guess somewhere between 100 to 200 km per hour. I live on the flight path to Southampton Airport and am familiar with low flying aircraft coming in to land at Eastleigh and these objects were definitely not conventional passenger aircraft."
