Witness Testimony

"It was about 12:30 am. i was walking my dog and i looked up at the sky (as i usually do) and saw what i thought to be a huge star, double the size of a normal star, and it was pulsating red. it seemed to be the same distance as some of the other stars but i really couldn't tell because i don't really know how to calculate that. after a few minutes, i took my dog inside and got my cheap little coolpix camera, to see if i could capture the image. i figured if it was a star, i would only see a white spot in the shot. but i saw something very different. (see pictures) a string-like object, changing shape. it seemed to move very slowly, just like a star would. when i first saw it, it was slightly to my left, as i stood at my front door. a couple of hours later, it was over my apartment building. the next night (which is the night that i'm writing this), i went out to see if it was there again but it wasn't. i should add that on both nights, the sky was clear so if it was there tonight, i'd have seen it. wish someone could tell me what that could have been. i noticed as i looked through the reports, that there were a couple of sightings in neighboring states that posted similar reports."
