SIGHTING: WATERLOO, IOWA

Witness Testimony

"I was on my way to work around 8:30 pm on august 28th. I take 218 from cedar falls to waterloo. I could see in the distance a bright light very low to the ground; I thought it may have been a new tower build, and was just a signal light. I could see it from when I first got on 218 in cedar falls, but as I drove down the road it got brighter and brighter. This thing was just hovering there. As I keep going down 218 the light keeps getting bigger and bigger giving me hints that its not a signal from a tower, but something else. As I passed it to my left I could see it was definitely a disc. It was very large, and had multiple lights around it; which wasn't defined until I was driving by. The were blinking, and at first; at close range I thought it was a plane or a helicopter. but there was no sound. It was clearly not moving. Which rules out a helicopter and a plane. This thing was maybe 100 yards above the ground, d was just hovering there for the duration of my drive. Eventually as I turned onto 6th St. to head to my job it was low enough to be hidden behind building. This baffles me, as I have no idea what this could have been. Every time I drive by this spot on my way to work I am expecting to see this thing again. part of me wanted to pull off and go closer to the object, but I was already running late on my way to work. It was clearly something out of the ordinary and I know I wasn't the only one to see this. There were too many other people on the road, and this was too close to the ground for it not to be noticed by quite a few people in waterloo. I just wish I wasn't driving so I could have gotten pictures and video. This was quite the experience. I normally would not post anything to these sites. living in Iowa there is a lot of country and a lot of sighting I have had. This one was different though. It was so close, the definition of this was obviously a disc."
